Happy Mothers Day

Before I was a Mom –
I slept as late as I wanted and never worried about how late I got into bed. I brushed my hair and my teeth everyday.

Before I was a Mom –
I cleaned my house each day. I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn’t worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom –
I had never been puked on – Pooped on – Spit on – Chewed on, or Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and My thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom –
I never held down a screaming child so that doctors could do tests…or give shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom –
I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn’t want to put it down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn’t stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life
so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much. I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom –
I didn’t know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn’t know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn’t know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn’t know that something so small could make me feel so important.

Before I was a Mom –
I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay. I had never known The warmth, The joy, The love, The heartache, The wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn’t know I was capable of feeling so much before I was a Mom.

Happy Mothers Day to all of the Beautiful, Wonderful Mothers I have had the pleasure of getting to know.  I hope your day is filled with laughter and love, and you know just how much you are appreciated.

Happy Birthday Mr. N.

Last year when I decided to offer the Little Loves plan, I had no idea how it would go.  Would parents call every 3 months to book sessions?  Would it really work?  There are a lot of reasons to worry when offering a new service, but with this business you just never know how it will be received.  In my wildest dreams I would never have guessed that it would have become as popular as it has, nor would I have guessed that I would have such a wonderful opportunity to be a part of these little babies lives.  It’s amazing to watch all your babies grow, and today is an extra special day, as Mr. N., our first Little Loves client turns one.

He came 3 weeks early and spent a little time in the Nic-U before we got to meet, but it’s hard to imagine him now as the preemie he was the day we first met.  Please join me in looking back a little at Mr. N’s first year.  Happy Birthday sweet boy, and thank you for the smiles you give me every time you see me!

Pretzel Crazy GIVE AWAY!

Oh boy, looks good…doesn’t it?

Here’s your chance to win you own Bucket of Craziness.  By the way, it DOES taste as good as it looks!

Sheri from Pretzel Crazy and I are working together to bring you this give away in conjunction with I Made it! Market to help promote their NEW event next weekend.

I Made It! Jr. at Family Fun in the Square
Saturday, April 21st 12 – 4 pm

A a day of family fun at Bakery Square on Penn Avenue in East Liberty. Enjoy activities including: face painting, dance as the DJ spins fun tunes, get your photo taken in the photo booth AND shop handmade goodies created by local artists just for babies and kids!

Sheri and her pretzels will be AT this awesome family event next weekend!  I know our family LOVES events put on by I Made it Market! and if you don’t know much about them, they are worth your time to learn about.  This shot is from last June, our kids making a fun craft at an event downtown.

From the I Made It Market! website:

I Made It! Market (IMI) is a nomadic indie crafts marketplace provides opportunities for artists to bring their wares to market and we partner with community, arts and non-profit organizations to raise funds and awareness to assist them in improving our communities.

So, excited yet?  Want to see more of those pretzels?  Yeah, me too.

Some of the Pretzels included are: Just Plain Crazy, Batty Butterfinger, Insanely S’Mores, a Mindless Marshmallow, and her Signature Pretzel!

As you can see from the slideshow Fionn couldn’t make up his mind on which one was his favorite, so he picked them both!

So here are the details.  This give away will run until Friday, April 20th 2012.  All entries will be verified and RaffleCopter picks the winner, not me.  I Made It! Market Jr. is not compensating us for this give away, but we gladly accepted a pretzel basket from Pretzel Crazy so we could verify for ourselves just how YUMMY they really are!

Please follow the raffle copter directions below to enter, and good luck!

photo challenge/happiness

I have NEVER entered an I heart faces challenge before, so please be patient while I have some fun.  This week’s challenge is Happiness, and this image to me embodies that word.  A couple weeks ago my husband and I drove half way across the country to do a newborn session.  One of my very dear friends became an Aunt again, and it had been awhile since I’d gotten to see her.  After we wrapped up with our newborn images, this handsome little man had an impromptu session as well.  He was so sweet, and I love his laugh in this one!

Happiness IS an Auntie’s tickles!
